A lot of people get new cars, but they can barely afford them. They have massive car notes that can be over $600 per month. If you’re reading this, I know that you probably don’t have a car note that high. You may not even purchase new cars because you realize that you can save money by buying used. I’ve had three cars in my life, and they’ve all been used. Today, I want to share with you four places that you can go to find a used car.
New Car Dealerships
New car dealerships typically have used cars that they are looking to get rid of. If you get a certified pre-owned car from a dealership, you will get a car that should be in good condition. Most used cars come with a good warranty, and they also go through extensive inspections. You can also purchase noncertified vehicles at dealerships too. They may be a little older and also a different brand than the dealership.
The next place to find a used car is from an independent mechanic. I got my second car from an independent mechanic. It was a Camry, and it ran very well. I’d probably still be driving it, but I hit a patch of black ice a couple of years ago and totaled it. Independent mechanics may have only a few cars to choose from, but their price range should be very affordable. Something else that’s good with an independent mechanic is that they can fix your car if anything goes wrong with it in the future.
The next place to find a used car is at an auto superstore. Their superstores are huge lots that have hundreds of cars to sell. An example of an auto superstore is CarMax. CarMax has over 100 stores around the United States. CarMax inspects all of their vehicles very well. They have all types of brands sucks as Toyota, Ford, Chevy, and BMW. All CarMax vehicles come with a 30-day limited warranty. That should give you a time to do a thorough check of the video and make sure that nothing is wrong with it.
Private owners are the last way to find a used car. This is one of the best ways in my opinion. Most private owners are in a hurry to get rid of the vehicle, so that could mean a great price for you. A lot of people who post their cars for sale on Craigslist are private owners. Before you purchase a car from a private owner, you should make sure that you get a diagnostic test. Nine times out of ten the private owner isn’t a mechanic so they may not be aware of problems that the car might be having.
To summarize, the four places to find a used car at is at new car dealerships, independent mechanics, auto superstores, and from private owners.
