Why You Should Sell on Craigslist

Updated:

why-you-shouldsell-on-craigslistCraigslist has been around for a long time. Many people use it to sell things on there all the time.  I’ve used it to sell different things such as a microwave and a couple of bobble heads. If you’re on the fence about selling things on Craigslist, don’t be. The majority of the people that use it haven’t had any problems with it. I’ve been selling off and on with Craigslist for a few years now. If you’re unemployed right now this may be a way to bring in some extra money. You may be wondering if you should sell items on Craigslist as well. The short answer is yes. In today’s post, I go over a few reasons why I think you should sell your items on Craigslist.

The first reason that you should sell your items on Craigslist is that there are no fees to list any item on their site. Many online marketplaces charge you to list items, but not Craigslist. That will save you a lot of money depending on how many items you sell. You can list as many items as you want to without having to worry about any listing fees.

Reason number two why you should sell items on there is that certain items will sell faster on that site than they would on other sites such as eBay or Etsy. Electronics is one thing that sells pretty quickly. People love their gadgets. They tend to want them and want them fast. I’ve had friends sell laptops within an hour or two after listing them on Craigslist.

Craigslist is also good for selling bigger and heavier items. Refrigerators, vehicles, and lawnmowers are just a few things that I would consider bigger and heavier. Those items can be sold on other sites, but for me, it is much easier to list them on Craigslist and have somebody come and pick them up. The cost of shipping for bigger items can be ridiculous. Heck, I’m not even trying to think about how much it would cost to ship a car across the country.

In today’s society, nothing is 100% safe. In my opinion, Craigslist is very safe. You just have to practice using common sense. There are a few things that you can do to make sure that your transactions are as safe as possible.

The first thing that you should do is to establish a safe place to complete your transaction. Some places that you can consider meeting up are shopping mall parking lots, police precincts, Walmart parking lots and at the post office. All of these locations are typically safe. You won’t be isolated at any of those places either.

The next thing you can do is to meet up with your buyers during the daytime. That should be common sense, but sometimes people let the thought of getting quick money cloud their judgments. Besides being safer, completing your transactions during the daytime also allows you to see your surroundings and notice something if it seems suspicious.
