Well, the Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the Super Bowl, and the NFL is breathing a sigh of relief.
Kansas City Chiefs means Travis Kelce, and if you haven’t heard, Travis is dating the most famous woman in the world right now, Taylor Swift.
While people have bemoaned the amount of coverage the couple has been getting, it’s about to get ramped up even more, with one question on everyone’s mind: will Taylor Swift attend the Super Bowl?
Swift has been a regular at Kelce’s games since their relationship went public, bringing a huge boost to the NFL’s viewership. According to Fox 4 News, Swift’s first appearance at a Chief’s game led to 27 million views, as much as the last Super Bowl. In addition, Sunday Night Football viewership reached a new high, with increases in female viewers ages 12-17 (53%), female viewers over 35 (34%), and female viewers ages 18-24 (24%), as compared to the season-to-date average.
Not only are these record-high numbers, but they tap into a large demographic that isn’t usually whom the NFL targets.
But can Swift even attend the Super Bowl if she wants to?
The Super Bowl will be held in Las Vegas on February 11, 2024. At the same time, Taylor will be on her international tour, where she will be performing in Japan on February 10th. But her next show after that won’t be until February 16th in Australia, so technically, she won’t be busy on the 11th. But will she be able to get to Las Vegas in time to watch the game?
Darren Rovell, a sports reporter, calculated the time it would take for the Pop Star to reach the U.S. from Japan and tweeted, “Taylor Swift performs in Japan the night before the Super Bowl. It will end around 10pm Tokyo time (5 am Las Vegas time). The flight from Tokyo to Vegas takes 12 hours, meaning Swift can arrive at 5pm local on the day before the Super Bowl, 25 hours, 35 mins before kickoff.”
For most people that would be quite the difficult plane to catch but Taylor notirosly uses her private jet for even shorter trips and less memorable occasions than this one, so it doesn’t;t seem impossible for her to attempt it.
As to whether the star is going to try to make the game? Neither she nor Kelce have commented as of yet.
