Taylor Swift Announces New Album as She Wins 13th Grammy

Published:

Taylor Swift won her 13th Grammy for her album Midnights at tonight’s awards show. As she reminded the audience when accepting her award, 13 is her lucky number, and it is a constant refrain in her albums and the “easter eggs” she leaves for her fans.

“I want to say thank you to the fans,” Swift said while accepting her Grammy for pop vocal album, “by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the past two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19.”

The album will be titled “The Tortured Poets Department,” and will be the prolific songwriter’s 11th album.

The singer posted the cover of the album on her Instagram soon after her announcement, which shows a black and white photo of Swift reclining amongst pillows.

The caption read, “All’s fair in love and poetry… New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19.”

Swift had been dropping clues and hints that a major announcement was imminent, with many fans on social media speculating that she would announce the re-release of her album “Reputation”.

Swift has been re-reconding all her music after a dispute with Scooter Braun, who currently owns the Masters of her original albums.
