The average pay starts at $19/hour, but the positions that are harder to fill also come with sign-on bonuses. Best of all, employees have the additional luxury of choosing their own payday, even as soon as they finish a shift.
2. Best Buy
Electronics are among the most popular holiday gifts. And with their seasonal discounts and deals, many choose to shop at Best Buy.
Many locations are immediately hiring for positions in their stores and distribution centers. While they have the most need for in-store customer service reps, you could also look into jobs with their Geek Squad. Their average pay is $18/hour, but you can earn more with overtime and holiday pay.
3. Gap
Clothing retailers always hire extra help before the holiday rush. If you want to work for the GAP, they need in-store associates to help with customers as well as additional support in their distribution centers.
Plus, it comes with the added benefit of a 50% discount on all merchandise from Gap’s family brands including Athleta, Banana Republic, and Old Navy to save you even more on holiday gifts.
4. FedEx
FedEx is another one of the companies that are hiring more help for the holidays. To handle the influx of e-commerce, they need people to fill a range of positions from package handlers to delivery drivers.
Although entry-level positions only start around $11/hour, there are more senior positions that pay up to $28/hour if you have the required training and experience.
5. Kohl’s
Kohl’s is another national retailer that hires more people ahead of the holiday shopping season. For those who are interested, they need seasonal sales associates and material handlers.

6. Radial
For those looking for remote seasonal work, Radial may be one of the best companies that are hiring for the holidays. They typically need customer service reps to help people place orders, process credits and returns, resolve shipping issues, and handle customer emails online and over the phone.
Radial announced that they are hiring for 2,000 positions for retail clients like Costco, Harley Davidson, and American Express. Although the pay starts at $16.50/hour, you have opportunities to make more for overtime and late-shift schedules.
7. Target
Every year, Target looks to hire “holiday heroes” to meet their customers’ demands. These are temporary, seasonal employees to help out during the holiday rush.

9. United States Postal Service (USPS)
It comes as no surprise that November and December are the busiest time of the year for the United States Postal Service. Therefore, they are hiring 28,000 additional workers to sort, load, and deliver packages.
Although most temporary positions don’t offer full-time benefits, base pay starts from $17-$25/hr depending on the position and where you live.
10. Walmart
This retail giant is also looking for seasonal help. Right now they are looking to hire an additional 40,000 associates with an average starting wage of $17/hour.
