Trump has been a polarizing figure in the world of politics. However, he’s managed to raise the most money of any presidential candidate for the 2024 election. He campaigns hard, and the rewards have come in. Certain states have given more than others, with the major population centers giving the most.
Even states that are blue or purple have donated quite a bit to his campaign.
California
California, believe it or not, was once a very red state, but today it’s bright blue. Nonetheless, its citizens have donated the most to Trump’s campaign of any state at $6.17 million.
Texas
As a highly populated state and the popularity of the Republican party there, it’s no wonder that Texas is in second place for its donations to Trump’s campaign. Its citizens have given about $4.99 million to his campaign.
Florida
Florida is a red state that is highly interested in Trump. However, their governor, Ron DeSantis, is also running for president. This has caused much of the Republican donations to be split between the two candidates. Florida residents have given Trump $4.63 million.
New York
New York is known for strongly leaning left. Since 1988, it has voted for Democratic candidates in presidential elections. However, there are still Trump fans within this population. They’ve donated $1.76 million to Trump’s campaign.
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is a swing state or purple state. It’s hard to predict how it will vote, and its internal politics are highly mixed. Still, it has its Trump fans, and they donated $1.63 million to help him in his presidential run.
Arizona
Arizona is a purple state that’s split right down the middle between red and blue. Among the state’s Republicans, more than $1.52 million has been donated to the Trump campaign.
Georgia
Another purple state, Georgia, has been unpredictable in its voting for presidential elections. While it was once bright red, it’s starting to lean toward blue. Georgia residents have donated $1.5 million to help Trump get elected again.
North Carolina
As a Republican state, it’s no wonder that North Carolina residents are so interested in helping Trump win. They have given him $1.26 million to try to make him the 47th president.
Michigan
Michigan has been a Democrat state for a long while, though Trump did win there in 2016. This makes it hard to gauge how the state will vote. We do know that they like Trump, donating $1.24 million to him.
Ohio
As a swing state, candidates clamor for Ohio’s votes and try to get it to swing their way. The people of this purple state have given $1.21 million to Trump to help him win the presidency.
Tennessee
A bright red state, many Tennessee residents have been big supporters of Trump’s re-election campaign. The people of the state have given his campaign $1.17 million for those efforts.
Illinois
Illinois is one of the bluest states in the union. It votes Democrat in national elections as well as in its internal ones. With a population of more than 12 million, it donated just 1.16 million to Trump.
Washington
Illinois solidly votes Democrat in national elections. It’s a state that does have its Trump supporters, however. Washington Republicans donated $1.12 million to the Trump campaign.
New Jersey
New Jersey is the land of millionaires with more of them than any other state. However, this didn’t translate into a lot being donated to Trump. The state gave Trump just $1.09 million.
Virginia
A highly Democrat state, Virginia didn’t give much to Trump. After all, Virginia was the only Southern state to vote for Clinton over Turmp in 2016. For Trump’s re-election, residents have only given $1.08 million.
