When you’re traveling, a lot depends on your flights being on time. You need your flight to arrive as scheduled so that you can get to the next flight. When an airport has a lot of delayed flights, it can make travel a hassle and create stress.

Some airports in the U.S. and Canada are terrible about on-time departures. If you want to be on time, you may want to avoid these airports. According to BestBrokers, these are the worst airports when it comes to canceled and delayed flights.

The team at BestBrokers analyzed monthly On-Time Performance (OTP) data from OAG, a UK-based travel data provider. They calculated the percentage of delayed flights for the largest airports and carriers in the two countries in 2023. To avoid comparing major airlines with small ones that fly several times yearly, they only included airlines and airports with more than 20,000 flights for 2023. This left them with a total of 17 airlines and 86 airports in Canada and the United States.
