15 Jobs That Will Most Probably Get a Raise in 2024

Published:

There are a lot of jobs that are in strong demand, and these jobs often get large pay raises because of that demand.

While many companies give raises that are just a couple of percentage points, these jobs are set to go up much more than that in 2024.

As the US labor market continues to favor specialized skills and expertise — particularly in fields that are critical to the economy — ResumeGenius is seeing pay for legal, financial, and software professionals reach historic levels.

In the legal field, lawyers and clerks are handling more cases and billing more than ever, and clients are paying record sums for new work.

Despite the rise of AI and the impact of the 2023 layoffs at large tech firms, there continues to be strong market demand for talented software and web developers across the economy, which is naturally driving wage growth. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 16% employment growth for web developers between 2022 and 2032, rapidly outpacing the national average.

In finance, 2023 marked the highest increase in base pay for the industry in a decade, as employers use higher salaries to retain top talent and fill vacancies—little wonder there was a 26% surge in new applications last year.

Overall, ResumeGenius believe that as technology continues to evolve and the demand for legal and financial services remains high, it’s likely that these professions will continue to experience significant pay growth
