Being online on our devices has become a part of everyone’s lives. However, people in some countries spend more time on their devices than in others. The top countries for time spent online can be surprising.

According to Smartick, these are the ones that have the highest average time spent online; these five countries spend the most time on their digital devices. This includes time spent on both desktop and mobile devices. South America features big in this list

South Africa

Residents of this country lead the world in time spent on both desktop and mobile devices. They average about nine hours and 38 minutes a day on these devices. This is true even though only about 72% of people there use the internet.

Brazil

Brazilians come close to South Africans when it comes to their online time. They spend an average of nine hours and 32 minutes on their devices every day.

Philippines

People in the Philippines are easily racking up online hours. They stay on their devices an average of nine hours and 14 minutes every single day of the week.

Down in Argentina, there’s a lot of time being spent on devices for both work and leisure. Argentinians average about nine hours and one minute on their devices daily.

It may not be a surprise that South Africa is number one since its people spend the most time online overall. It’s people are on computers for an average of four hours and 25 minutes a day.

Russia

The Russians love their computers. While they don’t show up on the list of top mobile users, they’re near the top for computer use. They average four hours and 17 minutes a day on them.

Like so many South American countries, Colombians spend a lot of time on their computers. They spend an average of four hours and 11 minutes there every single day.
