Say hello to warmer colors in your home if you’d like to give your living spaces a cozier update. This doesn’t mean that you have to paint all your walls red (although you certainly could go this route too), but this can simply be achieved by adding some pops of warmer color in the form of throws, pillows, or even wooden furniture.

Layer on Layers on Layers

Adding layers will instantly cozy up any space as it adds depth. There are no right or wrong ways to add layers, and it can range from pillows to blankets and may even include the layering of plants.

Lighting and Love Matters, Too

Layering up is important, but so is lighting up a room and filling it with the things that you love. Good lighting will automatically add a cozy touch to any room as it illuminates your living spaces.

When you add things that you love to your indoor spaces, you are building sentimentality, and you really can’t go wrong with that as it adds personal touches and tells its own story.

Try Monochromatic Palettes

Try sticking to one color family, such as shades of beige, in one room of your home to up the coziness. The all-neutral room trend may come and go, but nothing screams cozy like a room that is filled with colors from one hue.

Declutter

Decluttering your home is most definitely not the most glamorous way to add coziness, but it is one of the fastest ways to achieve your cozy mission. If any items in your home no longer add value or spark joy, then now would be a great time to get rid of them. Seeing a messy or cluttered room or area makes it impossible to relax and get cozy.

Include Personal Touches

A cozy home should always include personalized touches. This can be achieved with the addition of photos of loved ones or just something sentimental that makes you smile when you pass by.

Add Flowers or Greenery

There’s nothing quite like adding a bunch of flowers or some potted plants to a living space to add some cozy vibes. Flowers and plants will instantly add a bit of life to your indoor living spaces and make them feel more lively and cozy.

Fire

If you don’t have a fireplace, then fear not because, luckily, there are other ways to add fire to increase coziness in your indoor living spaces. A fire would be great, but you can simply light a few candles if you want to make your home feel homier.

One could say that bathrooms are equal parts utility and sanctuary. Essentially, they’re the place where you can light a candle and wind down from a long day, but at the same time, it’s the exact spot where most of your grooming and getting ready for your day (or bed) happens. In terms of aesthetics, we do want our bathrooms to feel welcoming and serene, but, at the same time, they need to be functional.
