The 15 Surprising Cities With the Least Covered Parking

When a parking lot is covered, it’s enclosed, and this can serve as a deterrent to crime. These covered lots can also protect vehicles from the weather going on around them. For these reasons and more, many people want to use covered parking for their cars.

However, not every city has enough of it to meet demand. Some have a shortage of parking. According to ConsumerAffairs, these are the cities with the least number of covered car parks.

Omaha, Nebraska

If you want to park your car in covered parking, you may not want to visit Omaha. It’s tough to find a covered spot here. However, you might just see Warren Buffet walking by.

Kansas City, Missouri

As a cool city with great nightlife, Kansas City has a lot of demand for parking for both residents and visitors. While it has uncovered parking handled, it sorely lacks covered parking.

Tucson, Arizona

The sand in Tucson can be abrasive to vehicles when it’s blowing in the wind. It’s also possible to get sand storms in this city. But to keep cars covered, the city doesn’t have enough enclosed parking.

Scottsdale, Arizona

Scottsdale has the same problems with the elements that Tucson does, but it has the same problem with not enough covered parking. Parking out in the blowing sand can leave scratches on a car.

Santa Ana, California

Within short driving distance of the beach, it’s great to live in Santa Ana. It isn’t as great, however, to park there. It can be tough to find covered parking and deter thieves.

Glendale, California

California has a lot of problems with car break-ins, and that’s especially true in its major cities. Glendale is a part of the Los Angeles metro area that has far too few choices for covered parking.

Colorado Springs, Colorado

In this beautiful city, the mountain views are great, but you can enjoy those another time. What residents want is covered parking to keep their cars from being covered in snow. Unfortunately, there aren’t many lots to make this happen.

Toledo, Ohio

In the Midwest, the weather can get extremely bad very quickly. To keep cars safe, many people want to park their cars in parking garages. Getting covered parking isn’t easy here, though.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Getting in and out of the car in the scorching heat of the sun or in the rain can be frustrating. Many people try to avoid this with covered parking. However, it’s tough to find it here.

In Virginia, you never know what the weather will bring. One day it’s hot and sunny and the next there’s a massive storm rolling in. A parking garage could protect your car from both… if you can find one.

Reno, Nevada

The sand in Reno makes it necessary to keep your car covered to prevent damage. If you can locate a parking garage here, using it may be a good way to do this.

Jacksonville, Florida

With many of the best beaches in the area, many people come to Jacksonville to see and experience the sea. If you’re able to find covered parking when you do so, you’re pretty lucky.

With some great architecture, stunning mountain views, and plenty of museums, you may just need to find covered parking in this city to enjoy them all. Unfortunately, they can be tough to find.

Buffalo, New York

The cold in Buffalo often means deep snow. If you don’t want to dig your car out all the time, covered parking can help. The problem is that the city has far too few parking garages.
