15 New Skills Americans Really Want to Master This Year

Everyone should learn new skills to help them live a full life and take advantage of all their talents.

Preply has done a study on the skills Americans are most eager to learn this year. People are trying to learn various specialized skills to enrich their lives. Learning a new skill can open a person up to a different lifestyle or help them improve themselves.

They surveyed 2,502 Americans on their experiences with learning new skills. Respondents ranged in age from 18 to 76 years old and were 48% female, 50% male, and 2% nonbinary.

These were the skills they really wanted to learn:

Cooking and Baking

When people learn to cook and bake, they make it possible to have much healthier meals that also cost less. It can also be fun to spend some time in the kitchen working on a new creation.

Budgeting

This is an important skill that everyone should have. A lot of people are taking the time to create budgets to keep themselves on track financially. This can lead to being in a much better financial position.

Home Repairs and Maintenance

When you can fix things yourself, it’s a skill that will keep paying off forever. Learning these skills can save you a lot of money and hassle over hiring someone else to do the repair and maintenance work.

Investing

Anyone with the money to do so should at least look into investing. With high inflation, the worth of a dollar goes down rapidly if it isn’t put into stocks and bonds that can help it grow over time.

Having good time management skills can make you far more productive. Many people are trying in 2024 to improve this skill so they can get more done in less time for a better work-life balance.
