There’s no shortage of new and old diets that you can choose from. For people who want to eat sustainably, feel better, lose weight, or gain any other benefits, there are countless diets that each offer something a little different.

Sometimes, it takes trying a few diets to find the best one for you and your goals. Fitness Experts conducted a study of the search-engine popularity of diets, and some diets are more sought-after than others in the U.S.

The Mediterranean Diet

In the study conducted by fitness experts at PTPioneer.com, this diet came out on top.

This diet mimics the traditional diet in several Mediterranean countries. It’s the most-searched diet in the country with 3.3 million searches done on it. It’s a simple diet that doesn’t require a lot of strange ingredients. It has the highest number of search queries in Massachusetts.

The Keto Diet

This diet has been growing in popularity in recent years, and it shows up second in searches with 2.2 million searches conducted. It’s a diet that allows high-fat foods and cuts down on carbs. It’s especially popular as a search subject in Wyoming.

Vegan Diet

There are 1.8 million searches for this specialized diet. It’s been a growing movement as people want to eat more sustainably as well as healthier. It’s the most popular in searches done in Hawaii.

Weight Watchers Diet

This diet has been around for a long time, and it’s grown and changed over the years. However, it only gets about 900K searches online. It’s known for being a highly flexible diet that allows for many different foods. Interest in it is especially strong in New Hampshire.

The Alkaline Diet

This has interested about 800K people enough for them to search for it online. It’s a diet that’s similar to the vegan diet, but it cuts out acidic foods. Many vegan foods are acidic such as grains. This search is most popular in Delaware.

Paleo Diet

This popular diet is based on natural foods that were eaten far back in humanity’s past. For better health, it cuts out foods that are highly processed. About 790K people have searched for this, and it’s the most popular search in Wyoming.

DASH Diet

This diet has about 570K searches among people who want a healthy pattern of eating. It’s known for helping to reduce diabetes risk and help with high blood pressure. It’s most often searched for in Montana.

The Atkins Diet

This has been a popular diet for decades because it’s so flexible and allows so much fat. It’s a low-carb diet that’s similar to the Keto Diet. About 370K searches were done on this diet, and it’s been most popular in Vermont.

Flexitarian Diet

This diet is similar to a vegetarian or vegan diet, but there is a key difference. It allows eating meat periodically as it’s convenient. People searched for this diet 170K times, and it’s been the most popular search in Florida.

Dukan Diet

This is a diet for people who are looking for the fastest weight loss. It’s a low-carb diet that isn’t very well-known, with only 52K searches for it. It’s been most often searched for in North Dakota.
